Using Start Page: Processing Applications for Increased Permissions

Any user can apply for a higher level of permissions in their Personal Settings.

Once they do so, WebCrimson creates an Application which it submits to the Process Application page.  At that point, the Owner of the site will get an email alert that there is an Application pending.  Any Owner or Administrator for that site can process the Application.

The Process Application page will display the following fields:

  • Username & Real Name
  • Application Type (e.g. Change Permissions - Designer » Administrator )
  • Date Submitted

The Owner/Administrator will have the option to "Approve" or "Deny" the application.

Should you chose to Deny the applicant, you'll get a chance to send a "Denial Email" with details on your decision.  As usual, you'll also get the option to cc: yourself on the email.

If you chose to Approve the applicant, you'll get the same screen - this time to send an "Approval Email".  Once again, you can cc: yourself on the email.
