This is the place to put a brief description for your Database, largely for your own reference.
If you created your site using a WebCrimson Starter Site, there will be a short default description already here. Feel free to edit the default description.
Each data type has the sort of fields appropriate for the type of data it is storing.
For example, the Articles & Essays data type has the following eight fields available for use:
Title
Subtitle
Author
Date Written
Summary
Entry
Publication Date
File Name
You don't have to fill in all eight fields every time you publish an Article. Using the Show or Hide Fields feature, you can hide fields that you aren't using.
To use this feature, first click on the link that says "Click Here to Show or Hide Fields". Then, use the toggles shown to choose whether or not you'd like to Show or Hide each field. Keep in mind that some fields are required and can not be hidden.
When you're done, make sure to hit "Save Changes".
WebCrimson lets you apply up to three sets of categories to each database.
You can use pulldowns to choose which of the existing category sets you'd like to use for each database. You can also create new category sets, by clicking on the button that says "New Category Set" or by following the instructions here.
If you can't remember which Category Set contains which categories, you can select any Category Set and hit "View". A popup will appear with a list of the categories, in nested order.
WebCrimson lets you upload images to your default images location, as configured in your Site Settings. If you'd like to use this default location, just activate the Checkbox for "Use default location".
You don't always have to upload images into your default images location. You can use the pulldowns in this section of the Database Settings to pick a different folder that you'd like to upload images into. This can be a useful way to minimize the danger of uploading images with the same filename from different databases.
