YOU'LL BE MISSED, ARI.
If you'd like to write an NBI novel, we highly suggest that you read our titles to
understand the type and quality of books we seek.
NBI is looking for the best novel you can write. Period. We want well written, entertaining
fiction with interesting plots, solid characterization, and strong dialogue. We are actively
seeking novels in the following genres, and we are delighted to see cross-genres-whatever
you can devise to pique our interest.
Futuristic ~ Whatever you can imagine to write, we'd like to see it.
Fantasy ~ From classic quest to edgy urban, and anything in between.
Science Fiction ~ From hard, technically driven, to soft, character driven, even humorous space operas.
Vampires ~ Dark and deadly or steamy and sexy, show us what you have.
Shape Shifters ~ Regardless of their shape, these stories must have romance and a sexy hero.
Paranormal of All Sorts ~ Ghosts don't scare us, and Time Travel intrigues us. If it's wyrd and wonderful, NBI would like to read it.
Historical ~ All time periods, any country, although America, England, Ireland, Australia seem to be most in demand.
Suspense and Horror ~ Espionage, Thrillers, Action/Adventure.
All Above Genres can (and are encouraged to) contain romance, but we are not looking
for Erotica or Romantica. Hot or Steamy are welcome.
We don't want: mainstream or contemporary romance, erotica, pornography, abuse in
any of its permutations, or anything that belittles or condemns any segment of society,
in any shape or form. NBI also is not seeking short story collections, Young Adult
or Children's books, or poetry.
NBI first wants to see a professional query letter which includes the genre of your
manuscript, selling us on the strength of the work, a solid synopsis (1-5 pages), and a
dazzling sample-send us your best 1000 words, from anywhere in the novel. We will let you
know whether we want to read the entire manuscript within 3-4 months of receiving
your query. Please feel free to get back with us after this time frame, if you haven't
heard from us.
Your correspondence with us should be attached in a single rtf file, including your
name, address, telephone number, email address, and genre of the manuscript. This
information is important--please consider the number of submissions we receive--and we
will not seriously consider your query/submission if you can not follow directions.
If you send your query letter in the body of the email, please also include it in the text
of the file.
Send your submission as a single file to our Acquisitions Editor at:
Note: NBI will return unread any and all submissions that do not meet our initial
